This is the final version of my magazine cover. I have decided to call it BlockBoard because it is similar to the well known magazine 'BillBoard' which might attract people to read it if they think my magazine contains similar content at a more affordable price. I have used a colour scheme that reflects the genre
that my trailer The Evil Within caters to - horror. I have used the colour
red on my magazine cover to reflect that the main cover photo and line is advertising a horror
trailer, as red connotes blood, and blood is associated with the horror genre. I
have used black on the top and bottom of the magazine to make the audience focus on the main cove photo first and the background fading to black illustrates the darkness consuming the main character in the trailer. By only including three sub-headings I have made sure that the magazine cover stands out, especially the cover photo, as too many titles would make the image too crowded which would divert attention away from the purpose of the cover. To also insure that the image stands out I haven't overlapped the cover lines onto image at all. By including a free poster it attracts more people into buying the magazine and creates merchandise for The Evil Within, as consumers will create free advertising for the film by showing friends and family the poster. The film reel at the bottom is an extra glimpse into the film as it includes screen shots from the actual trailer. The use of the auteur being the main cover photo makes the magazine look more sophisticated which will appeal to a wider audience and also doesn't give too much away about the film which some people may prefer. By doing this it creates more mystery and the audience will have to read the magazine to find out more.
