What
happened in the trailer?
A girl
(Mia) seems to think she is processed by a demon; her friends try to stop her
killing them.
Which
positive, clever or interesting aspects do you think you could include in your
own trailer? What generic features are fulfilled well?
It using
collision cutting throughout such as slow to quick and quick flashes of action
with sound fx to accompany them. There are genuinely horrific bits such as the
tongue cut scene and the eyes on the girl. The music fits the writing very
dramatically. The inter-titles tell us the story while still being dramatic and
the text is kept short so that it doesn’t bore the reader. Overall this trailer
keeps the audience in suspense and fits the target audience perfectly as it
isn’t too boring and reveals lots of gore.
Which aspects
of the trailer did you think were unsuccessful, and would put off its target
audience? How is it disappointing?
This
trailer reveals too much of the plot as it is too long at 2 minutes 20 seconds.
This could put people off the film as all the best bits have been shown in the
trailer so they haven’t got to watch the film to be scared. There is overly
unrealistic puke and for some people there might be too much gore in the
trailer which will put certain fans off.
What was
the trailer’s average score in class? Why did it receive that mark?
The average
score in the class was 8.6/10 which was the winner out of all the trailers we
watched. This is because the inter-titles were good and not too long or boring
as well as the great use of music throughout. There was also plenty of
collision cutting which kept the tension at its maximum making every moment
appealing to its target audience.
